Keep On Keeping On

Saturday, May 05, 2012

I have COPD which often makes breathing difficult but I am determined that it will not rule my life. I have special treatments that makes things easier and my dear granddaughter has decorated my special masks I have to wear when I go out. At first it was a bit embarrassing to go out with them as it draws attention to me which I am not comfortable with. BUT, I have come to realize things could be so much worse and if I want to go out I must do what I must do . Life is not always easy dear friends but with the help of God we can do the best we can one day at a time.

Good for you & your granddaughter. I, too, have COPD. My inhailers keep me breathing fairly well. We just do what we have to do one day at a time. emoticon emoticon

When I first got my Bells Palsy and had to wear an eye patch for almost a year my sister started a campaign to decorate them based upon the seasons... I was uncomfortable because I already felt so...different at the time, but now that I look at it my family and their quirks is what helped me through the worst part of it with grace and humor. Sometimes what we see and what others see are two different things and what stands out the most to us doesn't to those around us. In the end, it's our friends and family that we should care about not what others think (and I mean really, if they are so shallow minded to stare or make comments our life is all the better for them not being in it). Your granddaughter sounds like a keeper!

What a blessing to have such a caring granddaughter. She must take after you.
