Wow! What a week!! Has been very busy and very emotional.
Found out that a friend has lymphoma. Was quite a shock of course and makes you feel so helpless. Did find out today though that it is a curable type and being as he is young and healthy he should recover. Still awful for him and his family but at least they are saying he has a good chance at beating this. The day I found out about this was after I'd only received about 3 hours of sleep. Won't go into detail but lets just say it wasn't my best eating day. I DID NOT BINGE which I am thrilled about but I did eat junk and did some mindless eating. And I felt the effects of it! I felt like crap!! In fact tried to ride my recumbent bike and the motion upset my stomach so much I couldn't ride.
On the same day I found out about that my son had his induction into our high schools National honor society. I'm obviously thrilled for him! Was bitter sweet as my friend's son was to be inducted also but he was at the hospital with his Dad..which is where he needed to be but still missed him.
And this weekend my son is at the State Forensics competition. Not to keep repeating myself but I'm so proud of him! :)
We also kept busy with baseball games but only have one more of those...well til summer baseball starts at the end of May..lol
It is about 15-20 degrees hotter here than normal here and I'm hating it. I know that's strong language but the older I get the less I can tolerate the heat. I don't sleep well, have no energy (even when in the ac) and am generally just crankier than normal. Worried that our mild winter means this summer is going to be awful! Am sure that being menopausal doesn't help and my weight is almost certainly a large part of the problem but I'm going to have to lose a lot to make a difference in that and certainly won't happen this summer. Am going to try and use that as additional motivation this summer.
I haven't gotten in as many workouts (missed 2 days out of 5) as I would have liked this week due to being so busy but other than the day of junk I have gotten in atleast 8 classes of water and I have counted my calories for every day this week!! :)
Today I received my new exercise dvds in the mail! I was so excited! Only bought two; was just feeling the urge to workout to new stuff. I purchased a Pilates one that has 3 disk and each disk has lots (don't remember the actual number) of different workouts on it. I also ordered the Sparkpeople 28 day boot camp and did day 1 tonight! hehe Loved it!! Felt like it was a great workout even though it was only 22 minutes long. Wanted to do a Pilates too but trying to pace myself so will wait on that one.
Am really hoping to see a loss on Monday morning. I've had a gain for several weeks and really needing to see the scale move. I know it's not all about the scale but would still be nice to see it move in the right direction ya know. Thinking I might do measurements again sometime soon.
And now that I've babbled on for so long and I have to be up at 4:45am I'm going to get off of here and head to bed! lol
