carb loading, last min preps

hi spark

not feeling spark like

gotta get my carbs in for the reserves.....
i forgot at the 18 miler, and paid for it ;p

go some last min things...
extra paranoid about spraining anything

really excited....only it's gonna be HOT day, well at least for me.... 75 ish

i like running in 50s

i checked out the elevation....yikes hahahaha huge hill right smack in the middle.

    You are going to do GREAT--just run your own race and don't let the excitement and crowds push you too fast too early. That elevation chart reminds me of some races that I've done (half marathons, that is!) and the hills often look worse than they really are. YOU GOT THIS!

    Ignore the elevation unless you are in CO! my elevation looks like that on flat runs! Seriously.

    I find people like yourself who can run marathons to be huge inspirations. I have never in my life been a runner, and this year I decided to change that. It has proven to be one of the hardest things I have ever taken on. Besides just getting my body/legs to adjust to the impact, it has proved to be quite the mental challenge to get my mind to convince my body to cooperate.
    Then about a month ago I suffered what I can only imagine is a stress fracture in my foot that has completely taken me out of it for the time being. The few times that I have even attempted to jog/walk briskly it flares up all over again.
    As someone who obviously does this on a regular basis, is there any advice you could give a newbie like myself? I was really hoping to do my first 5k in a few months.

    Congrats on heading to the marathon!
    I was out supporting some friends this weekend who ran here in Rochester and had a couple signs.

    think about these as you go through the course and hopefully they will bring you some motivation!
