Self-Kindness: Day 122 of 366

Wednesday May 2 and the family is doing well. The mama cat is sooooo friendly and a great mother. The kittens were about 7 days old on Friday April 27 when they "arrived" from the shelter. No names yet, but the mama is very sweet and petit and just a tiny bit cross-eyed.

Today, I started a more specific self-care plan for May. Since January, I have been building new habits around a healthy lifestyle for my mind, body and spirit. Lots of good stuff has happened so this month, I am going to do some tracking and really anchor these new habits.

I've included:
(1) a daily dog walk (fairly brisk, 30 minutes, and daily - rain or shine);

(2) healthy foods and my supplements in sane portions (working on the sane portion part this month --- but I am eating sooooooooo much better than last year:);

(3) 2 daily meditations (one in the meditation closet -- yes, I cleared out a hall closet and put blankets on the floor and I go in there for total quiet and no disturbance from dogs or family -- it works -- its kinda like my "cave in India"; AND one out with the kittens in the studio) - each at least 10 minutes

(4) reading time - at least 20 minutes, with the dogs along side

there are a few more check off items, but I printed up a spreadsheet (still a bit OCD here), but that makes it easier to track and stay on top of stuff for this month --- it seems to help me anchor the habits, which is the goal afterall.

All good - onward and upward..... and kittens!!

    I am starting to meditate, too. I signed up for a class. The teacher is a little flakey, but I'm enjoying it. I have a small room with my treadmill in it. I can shut the door and be quietly alone. I have to lock my cats out first. They are convinced that I should be focused on them, and nothing else. Enjoy!
