Mowing and Trimming

I just received a new lawn mower yesterday. My oldest daughter and I put the handle and wheels on it. The neighbor next door helped get it to stop scraping the side metal and it's good to go. Well, this morning I decided to mow my front lawn. Yeah, it was a really cool idea. About halfway through I was thinking, What in the world are you doing? You are not supposed to even lift a 4lb bag of sugar! I looked at the part that was done and it looked so much better. Looked at the part I was working on and it looked awful. So, I mentally divided it into FAT LINES. Yes, I see the questioning look on your face. In thinking of the rest of it as FAT, I pushed myself to get rid of the FAT on my lawn to make it look better. I was able to finish in 45 minutes and it looks so much better. I couldn't mow the ditch due to the angle and my daughter and her boyfriend are going to do the back yard. (Lots of holes in the yard)

The weedeater came today while I was resting. Now to put the nice trimming on the yard to finish it out. I'll do that either tonight or in the morning when I have plenty of energy. LOL

I took a look at my yard as an extension of me. I am mowing down the layers of fat that I have by diet and trimming it all up by exercise. I think that this is a good way to think of it. It makes the job not seem so hard. The end result is:

Yard: looks nice and presentable

Me: Healthy and leaner and more fit for myself and my family.

    Thank you. I am making an effort not to hurt myself. I figure if it takes me a week to do my yard then it takes a week. Like fat, it didn't get that way over night.

    I think that's a pretty decent idea. Just make sure not to overdo it and hurt yourself in the process. Still, that is quite a way to get your motivation ramped up! Plus as you mow the 'fat lines' of grass, you're also burning calories and building a little muscle too. Good work!
