Hanging in there...

Heading into day five on this elimination diet. Feeling better. A lot of my pain is easing off... Not sure if it is from the benedryl or from the meds or maybe, just maybe, from having eliminated something I'm allergic to and didn't realize it.
And I think that it may be the latter. I suspect dairy, though right now I'm not eating too many different foods.

I just added chicken and avocados today, since I wasn't getting protein on three days of rice bread, rice and apple juice and apple sauce, and I don't want to go too long without some protein. I think there are other foods that I have to watch for, as well, though. Not sure what, yet. It's going to take time, just adding a few things at a time. Might be nightshades, or fish, or something - but at least it is not apples and chicken!

I did discover that I have burning mouth syndrome, which has several causes, but often it indicates an allergy to something we eat. The major pain that takes over everything and jangles my nerves, has eased off enough that I'm feeling a lot of other things. What I thought was a referred nerve pain from my stomach making my mouth feel scorched is actually a real symptom of something all by itself. The really bad pain has been taking over my life for years, now. Having it let go a bit is a pretty remarkable thing and it's opening my brain up to feeling a few other sensations other than Ouch! It's annoying, but I can live with it compared to what else I've been feeling.

Got the first harvest of Sugar Snap peas today. Dexter had to investigate, of course.

You can see the raised bed and the peas in this photo, and the thornless blackberries in the back by the wall. Some weeds, too. We've run the weedeater but I have to do some serious pulling soon.

Didn't get pics of the grapes or strawberries, yet, but they will be setting fruit soon. They are covered with flowers, as are the blackberries and tomatoes. When the peas are spent I hope I have time to get a few more tomatoes and peppers in - that is, if I'm not allergic to them. I'll find out sometime her

My pc is giving alerts to do some antivirus thingy. Logging off... Hope all of you are having a wonderful week.

Glad you are feeling better. I hope you pin down the allergies soon so you know what to avoid to keep feeling better. Lovely fresh veggies from the garden!

(With the PC alerts - some of the yuckier spyware/adware will give you those alerts to try to get you to their site so they can install even more of their garbage. Many will trigger those popups any time you go to a new webpage even if that page has no problems. If you have someone who knows the more reputable virus/malware scanners and can do a cleanup, you'd be able to get rid of those.)

Good to hear that some foods are OK. I have gone through testing different foods. My main food allergy is wheat, but found out by an allergist. Got the test, that wheat spot got bright red and swollen, so allergic. And some sea foods, or too much of them. I can eat some. Then all of a sudden swelling, and I have to take benadryl.
To get more protein, get some protein powder, the good stuff and mix it with either milk or what ever you are not allergic too. I stir it into yogurt, puddings, cereal.
Your garden looks divine. I wish I still had the house and yard for a garden.
Mine is patio containers. Tomatoes, peppers, lettuce. and zucchini.
But will be enough for me.
Like you said, hang in there, you should know soon what you can safely eat.
Take care, stay strong and positive.

I'm glad the elimination diet is helping ease your pain. I know many people are allergic to dairy and wheat and feel so much better when they stop eating them. You are so right it's not good to go too long with eating protein as our body needs some every day. I've missed you on the chat but know it's hard when you're not feeling well and up to it. Do you do meditation as I've heard it is so relaxing and I've tried it and it did help so I need to take my own advice and try it again. Continue to feel better Sue. I hope this week is a really good one for you.
