Sick and Working Out

I had a good workout on Saturday but I was feeling a little sick. By yesterday I was fully engulfed... its official... I have a cold.

I feel so terrible but I am preparing for a challenge I set with myself for the month of May to lose 10 pounds and I refuse to turned back.

What do you do when you are under the weather? Do you keep working out and eating clean or do you take a break? I really need help with this one.

In the meantime... I am chugging water and hot tea and I am having 2 boiled eggs for breakfast. I have got to get this belly fat off my body! Aarghhh!

    Thanks ladies. I had to miss work today but I am going out later for a 30 minute walk and then showering and straight back to bed. Your wisdom on this was greatly appreciated! God bless!

    Oh no :( get better soon. I would say to just exercise at a lower intensity like the other commenter said but still watch what you are eating. If you can't be 100% at one thing don't give up on the other. Get well soon !

    I do try to work out still, but if my energy is low I'd lower the intensity. Let's say normally you jog, walk instead. If you normally walk 45 minutes, maybe do a few 10 or 15 minute bursts so you can rest. Try to get extra sleep. The water and tea is great. It's definitely best to keep trying to eat clean, more nutrients will get you better faster, but if I'm really sick, I tend to stop caring and start eating comfort foods - wouldn't recommend it! Maybe some soup and saltines wouldn't be too bad - especially if you get some healthy soup. Just make sure not to push yourself TOO hard or you may make it harder for your body to get healthy. And you can think of getting up and exercising like this - are you going to be stuffy and coughing and miserable on the couch anyway? might as well get up for a few minutes and have that accomplished feeling at least and know you still did something even though you were sick. Just don't push too hard :) Also, if you do nothing and start eating poorly once you are healthy you are going to be mad at yourself and feel like you have to "start over" again (that's how I feel anyway).
