My Plan for BLC 19 and Beyond
Friday, April 27, 2012
I reached my goal weight and have been maintaining since fall, 2008. So for the weight part, I want to continue in my maintenance. Having been a yo-yo throughout my adult life, I guess I will never be complacent about maintenance. Complacency is how my previous weight gains always began.
My eating is under control most of the time. But until I don’t think of food when I hear a paper crackle (“someone is opening up a candy bar!”) or think “food” when I catch a glimpse of something and then realize it’s something else entirely, I won’t be in total control.
My main focus this BLC (and beyond) will be on changing what is now sedentary in my life to at least “lightly active”. (words my pedometer uses). In addition to becoming generally more active, I will also work on specific fitness areas. I am again starting the push up challenge. I quit after week five last round and this round I get to start on week 3 so hope to finish it up this time. To protect my old knees, I will not jog outdoors, but I am doing the “free run” with my Wii and am working up to 30 minutes without stopping. I am now up to 15 minutes. I am also climbing flights of stairs. I am up to 10+ per day and I want to get to 25 per day, and will see how far I get this round. Along with this I hope to move from 10,500 steps per day to 12,500 steps per day.
I was about to add that age (I am 74) is a factor here, but then I remembered our theme: NO EXCUSES. So no excuses. I’m going to JUST DO IT!!
