Scale set back.....

Sunday, April 22, 2012

I am so upset.........

I have been doing so well with my daily calorie range and the treadmill 6 days/week......

I don't know what the heck happened to my scale.......last week, I was down 7 lbs.....and was super-excited!! This week, I was UP 3.........so, I got off the scale and then got back on it......it gave me a 5 lb increase.........by this point, I was furious! So, I got the 5 pound weight and made sure that the scale read the 5 pounds......

Once it said 5.0 pounds, I got back on the scale......and it STILL showed that I had gained 3 pounds!! By this point, I was unbelieveably upset.....

So, was the reading on the scale accurate last week? I am not sure.....

So, I am going to purchase a new scale at some point this week because I cannot have a malfunctioning scale........right?

I have also decided that I am going to pay EXTRA attention to my food......MEASURING EVERYTHING! And, if I don't see a nutrional facts label on the food PRIOR to intake, I WILL NOT EAT IT!!! (went to a seminar last week and picked all the right foods to eat on the buffet) This is the only way that I can CONTROL it.....and I am a big control freak, I'll tell you that!

Anyway, I don't want to ramble on here.....but I had to vent my frustration out......I feel alot better now.....so, now that I have gotten over my little scale set back, I am moving on with this journey...........

Keep on Sparking everyone! (I know that I am....)

Don't let the nasty scales stop you from your dream! It could be water weight, new muscle or any of a number of things. Just keep doing what you have been and see if it becomes a trend.

Hang in there...there are weeks when the scale is not our friend. The one thing to check when this happens is to use the tape measure and see if anything has changed around the waist, hips, chest etc. I have found that on a week where the scale is not cooperating, the tape measure does show progress.

    Thnx, Laura!

I am aware of the building muscle thing, but it still hurts not to see the scale go down....

Prayers for both if us......:-) emoticon

I can certainly understand your frustration. I have been there and done that. I was once told that muscle weights more than fat. During my last time losing weight the same thing happened to me. I was being good and following my diet plan but gained 5 pounds instead of losing! My fitness instructor told me that it was because I was building muscle. I was upset and promptly told him that building muscle was all good but I didn't WANT the extra pounds since I was trying to get pounds OFF of me! LOL!

You will see progress, Just keep on going! Prayers for you and pray for me too that we will both be successful in this endeavor!
