Once upon a time (about 2 months ago) i made some goals for myself that were just a little bit too big. i missed the first one, and the next, and slipped further and further behind the weight for each goal. that was a bad system. on April 7th, i made some new goals. they're on page and they are as follows:

April 21: 273
May 7th: 269
May 19: 265
June 2: 263
June 16: 260

because of these more reasonable goals, i set myself up for some success! i left a little bit of room for fluctuation so if i were to miss one goal, the next would not then be impossible by default. and it's more of a timeline than saying i want to weigh 260lbs by the middle of june. so as of today-

April 21: 273 emoticon
i weighed in at 272.8!!! now i have until may 7th to say adios to these 270s!

slowly starting to feel like this is something i CAN do!

GO YOU! Congrats on meeting your goal! Isn't that the best feeling ever? You are so smart to change your goals. Sometimes we have to admit to our selves that something isn't working - sometimes it's our eating/exercising habits (I ate too much...not enough water... etc) but sometimes the thing that isn't working is our bar of measurement! Good on you for being realistic and meeting (AND EXCEEDING!!!!) your goal :)

Awesome!!! Small Goals are the way to do it.
I find too many people want Quick Results and want them yesterday.. I was one of those people and the more I missed those goals the more of an I Don't Care Attitude I got. I've lost 20 lbs in 6 months and now realize that I am 20pounds lighter whereas had I given up I could very well be 20 pounds heavier.. It took me 18 yrs to get this way it's not going to rectify overnight. I'm human and will make mistakes but learning from those mistakes is exactly what I've been learning.
Congrats on Meeting your first GOAL!!!

emoticon great job! I have a tendency to set unrealistic goals as well, so that's great that you found a way to adjust. Not making goals can definitely be one my triggers to falling off the wagon. Keep doing awesome!
