Catching Up

Saturday, April 21, 2012

Haven't blogged in a while. So I'm gonna play catch-up.

First today is my late Father's Birthday. He passed 9 years and 7 months ago. He was a great father, husband, provider and veteran of the Army! I don't think a girl ever gets over losing the man that loved her first and the most. I miss his strong arms hugging me and hearing that strong, yet gentle voice saying "I love you Babydoll."

My girl; Justine graduated from boot camp as an MP for the US Army this week. I am so very proud of this girl. She use to be a girl that let others run all over her, so has always been too nice, sacrificing herself for others. But the Army has been her lifelong dream and she finally did it. Love her too bits.

As far as health goes, things look really good, cholesterol is down, blood pressure and heart rate are perfect. I'm still hanging at 149 lbs. even though I have been limited in my exercising. My pulmonary function studies were great, I've went from 65% to 78% for my FEV1, normal is 80%. Only on 1 inhaler now. Am waiting to take a bone density test done, bc Vitamin D is now 16.2 and I've had 2 breaks in the last 6 months not due to injury.

My ankle is slowly healing. Am suppose to still be in the boot for another 2 weeks, but I took it upon myself to take it off and wear my brace now 2 days ago. And I'm doing fine. Still a little swelling by the end of the day, but very little if any pain. In fact yesterday I did 20 minutes of cardio with interval training.

I have been staying busy, doing alot of walking outside with my grand-daughter, she keeps me very active, she loves to walk out in the field and garden. I do mean walking too, with no rest periods.

You sound like things are going well. That is good with an injury. Make sure you don't rush your ankle though. I got that advice and it was good advice and I think it is better in the long run. I had very little problems after. Also take any physio you get for it.

The picture of your grand daughter looks lovely. Kids do keep you active, thought mine are children not grand children and I am only 2 yrs younger than you!!! Slow starter!
