Last Weekend's Project
Thursday, April 19, 2012
Some of my team mates know that I live in an old farm house. It was built in 1900 and ever since we bought it (almost 5 years ago), we've worked on one project after another. We do most of the work ourselves, but we know when to call someone else in! However, one project we did was to replace the kitchen carpeting with a pretty pine floor. DH put it all down and then I stained and put the polyurethane on it. Unfortunately, it didn't get quite finished, so after nearly 4 years, last weekend was designated "finish the floor" weekend. We moved the table and chairs out and I scrubbed up a storm.
Richard decided to snap a photo of me on my prayer bones. Usually I am taking pictures of him, so don't know what got into him! LOL! Probably because it was an unusual sight--me cleaning on my hands and knees!! Notice the 2 pillows under my knees.
Caught in the act for this one. Such attractive working gear!!
The finished (but still wet) floor. It didn't dry a shiny finish, but has a "satin" shine to it. I was disappointed in some spots I didn't get really well, but they don't show much with the table/chairs back in. "Some" day I may try to fix them.
Thought I'd share them with my team mates who have to listen to me talk about one project or another!! Next on the agenda? Hmm...don't know yet, as my knees are still tender! LOL!
