The Simple Diet Journal #19 -- Post-Op + Thots about Tonight's Biggest Loser

Tuesday, April 17, 2012

Mini update: surgery went very well. My surgeon was very happy and that made me feel great. I'm hardly in any pain, just feeling a little drained. Working on taking it easy so that everything heals the way it's supposed to.

Being on the Simple Diet has made meals very easy for this type of situation. Who knew??!! When everything can be prepped so easily and quickly, it's easy to stay on plan even while recovering. Granted, I hardly ate anything yesterday -- but that's to be expected. Today, I'm still a bit low-key, but getting in my shakes and as MsMakeover calls them -- my fruggies :-).

I so feel like working out, but that'll just have to wait for now. Have been having fun reading up on all types of exercise plans -- the 5k training program on Spark, as well as the differences between Insanity, P90, Body for Life, Turbo Fire, Zumba . . . guess it's a form of vicarious virtual exercise!

Also -- weighed in and have officially passed the 25lbs lost mark -- yeah! Just about at my half-way point -- can't believe it!

Looking forward to seeing what drama unfolds on The Biggest Loser tonight? I'm not sure I'm looking forward to it -- but I'm curious to see what happened.

I do so miss the seasons with the very inspiring contestants like Abby Rike and Ada Wong, the incredible athleticism of Tara Costa, the humor of Hannah Curlee, the good natured O'Neal, Sam and Koli, Sunshine . . . there are many more. Not like there hasn't been game playing on previous seasons -- but somehow this season seemed a bit more sour. I thought I was the only one who was reacting to the episodes earlier in the season -- but then began to see all types of backlash heating up online.

The last few weeks seemed to have been edited differently -- although when they announced the PALA+ challenge and the idea of choosing a contestant to sign up under -- I couldn't imagine wanting to be on any of their teams. I thought that if I were to do it, I would base it more on the school or community organization that would benefit. I wish this option had happened during other seasons because I don't think I would be at such a loss regarding choosing someone. For any of you who have been following the show, I'll be interested to hear what you think about what goes down on the ranch tonight.

Thanks for all your well wishes and prayers -- I am so blessed!

Smiles for you . . .

Peace, Health, and Living Fully No Matter What!

First off I am glad that surgery went well (sorry I missed that you had this coming up)

Congrats with on passing the 25 pounds off mark. You are doing awesome.

Regarding The Biggest Loser. I am very unimpressed with the contestants this season. With this being the season of no excuses there seems to be an awful lot of them. I have not had any positive feelings towards any of the contestants lately and none have inspired me. They have whined constantly after being given the greatest opportunity to be on this show. After the way they all behaved tonight I kind of hope one of the previously eliminated contestants comes back on and wins it all.
