So this time last year I was actually on the team bus heading to Hopkinton to run the Boston Marathon! It was my second. I am pretty certain it was my last, but you never say never right? Today- forecast calls for HOT HOT HOT. They are talking 88 degrees. That makes a tough marathon run, but praying that heat will come later in the day- like after 2pm, so my fellow running mates can run the race they've worked so hard to run today. We shall see. I am blessed that I get to watch the race from an unbelievable spot- the last turn onto Boylston Street. My nephew is participating in the Miles for Miracles Program- where a disabled person is partnered with a runner who will push them the last 1000 yards on the course. He's 7 and this is his second race! He loves it. Last year my Dad got to join my SIL and her family along with my family to watch and cheer me on TOO as I was running. This year merely a spectator and I am happy about that. I may get to grab my husband from the hospital since he may be released after a 4 day stay. He had surgery Friday to repair a fractured tibia as he was injured while working/training on his motorcycle for work. Tough few days but he's getting better and better. My father in law is such a peach- I asked him if he'd mind coming over this morning so I could go to my beloved Boot Camp class at 5:45am ... Now he's up every morning by 4:30am so he readily said sure. The kids of CouRSE were sleeping when I did leave to go to the class- around 5:35am/ He came over about 5:20am. I had to go to class. I love it and it really helps me with the stress of all going on. Its pretty much been me solo with the house, the kids, my job, etc as my hubs recovers in the hospital. He's been there since Thursday. Again- I am fine. they are fine as is hubs but still scary and a lot. The class today. We did a 60x20. One time around 4 stations with two exercises that you did back and forth for two times and for 60 seconds. You had 20 seconds rest in between the back and forth. Once you moved to a new station- a full minute rest.
Warm up = 3 sets of 10 - squats, jump jacks, side lunges, high knees
1 set of 10 gate swing squats holding 10th for 20 seconds
Mat warm up - 1 set of 10 - fire hydrant leg lifts, circles each direction and leg, and straight leg lifts each leg
TRX rings- pull ups - she had us pull up fast, then release slow for a count of 4.
We did each exercise for a minute, twice! 20 seconds rest in between
Squats with resistance bands arms extended out
High knees in place. (Basically running in place as fast as you can)
Kettle bell pull ups- 17 pounds
Touch touches on step as fast as you could
60 seconds each exercises, 20 second rest in between done twice
Run on track 100 yrds out medium pace, sprint back
pushups. 25 real first set, 18 second set- then I switched to girl push ups. Another8 and 15) Those were done 60 seconds/20 second rest
Then we did abs:
35 seconds- legs lifted straight up and then out
35 seconds - Russian Twists
60 second held- Push up Planks
DONE! WHEW. That was hard. I felt tired but good. Weight was DOWN. I tracked it today - 157.5.Let's keep on moving the needle shall we>?
