Shorts Inventory

Sunday, April 15, 2012

I was searching for a pair of shorts to wear today. I have shorts in four sizes. 10,12,14,16,
It depends on the brand the fit of the shorts. Shorts that were falling off of me last summer will not fit today (12 GV). Neither will the 16GV. The only ones that fit are the 14 Dockers. Needless to say none of the size 10s I bought when I was at my happy weight will fit! When I lost 46 pounds, I purged my closet of any big clothes, thinking I would never go back there. It is amazing how the weight crept back on. As a result, I am left with a closet full of clothes I cannot wear and few that I can! I am determined to get back into those 10s. I felt so much better then. But it was alot of work and it does not get easier!

I am in the same boat as you. Reading your blog posts made me realize that I've got to be diligent...and that I do not want to buy a whole new large wardrobe (this weekend I settled into size 12 shorts). I too got rid of clothes and for a long time was in denial. But that 10 pounds makes the difference in sizes. For me, it is the belly fat slowly creeping back that I don't like.

Here's to awareness. And diligence! I get a new scale tomorrow (ordered from Amazon). So I should have some accuracy, too.

It's so frustrating, but it's still a good thing that you got rid of a lot of clothes. You will work your way down. I own only one pair of shorts - in XL - and wear them only in the privacy of my own home :). I'm very pear-shaped, so shorts aren't in my future, even if I lose 40 pounds. I look totally silly.
