More challenges!

Saturday, April 14, 2012

In the Spring 5% challenge, I stayed the same weight 2 weeks in a row. This week, I gained a pound. BUT – the non-scale victory was that I was able to put on a pair of pants yesterday and they were COMFORTABLE. The last time I wore them, they were tight on me.

I'm doing a clean eating challenge on Facebook. I'm doing pretty well with that. I'm thinking twice about what I eat. I was tempted to run to Dunkin Donuts during work yesterday, and talked myself out of it, because DD is definitely not clean (the food, not the store...I don't need angry emails from DD workers). And I was also tempted to stop at an ice cream stand (why are they even open in April?) after work, and talked myself out of that, too. Go me.

I joined the Official Spring into Shape Bootcamp Challenge last Saturday, and Thursday I was finally able to do a couple of the videos. My computer kept being busy and slow and non-responsive earlier in the week, and it finally finished whatever it was doing and let me see the videos. www.sparkpeople.com/mysp

I also joined the Presidential Active Lifestyle Award Challenge: Activity and Nutrition. I figured, why not? I’m already working on working out. Let's aim for 30+ minutes of exercise each day. www.presidentsch

In addition to the SparkPeople videos, I’ve found a dance video for “Ignite,” the official song of the Girl Scouts Rock the Mall event in Washington DC in June. It’s good exercise as I try, try again to get the steps right. The steps aren’t difficult – I’m just uncoordinated. But it’s fun (so far), so the minutes fly by. And I’m getting exercise while I’m at it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=

emoticon Non-scale victories are great motivators! Keep doing the work and that scale will eventually catch up!

You go girl!! I have not been losing weight on the challenge either, but we are sticking with it and learning new things and that is the most important part. This week is freggies, which I love because it forces me to try all new kinds of food!!

You are doing great! I saw that Yelana's was open and I've heard that Country Creemee is open too. I've stayed away from both of them.

At Dunkin I try to stick to the reduced fat blueberry muffins or a plain bagel. My daughter likes their eggs so sometimes she will eat the egg and I will eat the bagel. :-)

I am on the Spring 5% challenge too and not hitting my goal of losing 1 pound/week. It's still a great challenge though because it makes me to focus on tracking and other stuff.
