Bittersweet memories

Friday, April 13, 2012

I was just at my friends website going thru the photos. He recently had a barn fire and lost almost his entire show string. He did lose all his equipment and clothes and personal possessions.

I was surprised to see my horse in his photos. I am pleased to see him there. I really loved that horse. Ironically, if I had bought him back as I wanted to, he too would most likely be one of the 19 horses that lost their lives in this fire. My horse is #24 and #63. My Brassy Ass I called him.

Dancing in the Dark is gone. He had so many National Championships. He was such an awesome horse. My heart goes out to all the owners that lost their horses in this fire. Such a scarey thing.

not sure Bob. I know that a lot of strangers stopped and helped open stall doors. The media is really bad on numbers. It was 7 dead for the longest time, then next report it jumped to 19.

I hope he is too Cello.. I haven't called him, he's busy enough w/ the actual owners and everything going on.

Hope your friend is recovering OK after such a trauma. The horse is a beauty - such a glossy coat!

Is this the same barn where a 15 year old girl saved 23 horses?
