Day 1: Picking Up the Pieces of Me

Today is my first day of getting back on track with my life health wise. I had a tough week and was feeling extremely low on the self-esteem scale about my weight, so I confided in my friend Mercedes, and proposed blogging about my daily struggles/success with losing weight.

Blogging was a big part of my success in losing weight in the past years. One thing about blogging is that you HAVE to do it every day or else it will not work. I think it's good to talk about how your day is going, what you have eaten, and how you are progressing.

My good friend Mercedes is my support in this chapter of my life. She has recently agreed to join Spark People to help me, and herself in creating a healthier lifestyle. I can't say enough how thankful I am to her for doing this.

So here goes day 1...

So far I haven't eaten anything, but plan on having a salad soon... romaine lettuce, mushrooms, tomatoes, cucumbers, and ranch dressing.

Later on in the afternoon I plan on having some sliced carrots and jicima. Not sure what I'm doing for dinner, but whatever it is, I do plan on cutting down my portions.

Most importantly, I need to remind myself to drink a lot of water. I've never been the type of person who says "Man, I'm craving a tall glass of H2O!" instead, I'm not thinking anything, because I rarely crave fluids in general. I do however force myself to drink water everyday, just not as much as I should be. Weird right?

I think today is going good so far. I look forward to my next blogging experience tomorrow... hopefully I can survive the night!
