Week 4 Recap of Results

Friday, April 13, 2012

After 3.5 weeks of wonderful success...I met my first really big hurdle...Easter Chocolate! I was able to hold it together well enough...until about Sunday afternoon...and then I just caved...and I caved in a little bit more each day. This is the one facet that makes this diet very difficult for me, yet very necessary.

I am not a person who has learned to eat in moderation. That will come in time as I relearn good habits. But last week showed me that I do not have the strength to say- just one piece of candy, just one treat. That is what I like about Atkins- it is very strict, and it does not allow me to eat my trigger foods. So until I can learn balance and moderation, I need the strict guidelines this diet offers. I am sure that is why I have had success in the past and in the last few weeks- because I do not have much decision making to do right now. I pick foods off of a list and eat only those!

As I blog here, I am almost through with week 5 already...and today is the day I will really try to get back on track with no more cheating so I can start moving forward again! Plus, I think that since last Sunday, I have eaten all the chocolate in the house!! emoticon

Hey - You lost 8.8 pounds in 5 weeks - that is 1.76 pounds per week, which really sounds like a great number to me! Safe weight loss is 1 to 2 pounds a week. So, keep it going!

Easter got me too. Look at the big picture: since you started the challenge, you've lost almost 10 lbs! That's more important than the 2 or 3 you gained since Easter. I've been having a bad week eating-wise too but when I have a bad day, I go back to eating healthy the next, it's all we can do.

I know the feeling - Easter got to me too!
But overall, you're doing great and, reading your results week by week, I'm sure you'll be on the right track with your diet soon and see some new results! This is coming from a person with a lot more weight to lose - your results are awesome!

Easter got me too... I caved on Monday with the chocolate, ate way to much of my daughters, to the point where I threw all of her chocolate in the garbage. I felt bad after that she couldn't have her treats because I had no self control but I made it up to her with a new toy.

I can deal with anything else but chocolate, I can't have it in my house.

Your doing great so far, keep up the good work.

You know that learning is a great way of growing. We need to see what we can and cant do and then apply that to our journey. I will tell you that you will learn in time to have more control, but there are foods that I think are hard for each of us.
I am working on week one of my plan and it means sticking to a low cal for this week. So far I am doing good, I have lost some pounds and will weigh Monday. I hope I will have some of your success.
Keep up the great job and I know you will do just wonderfully.
    Hugs and smiles
