Willingness

:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~:

I cannot change what I am unwilling to face.

James Baldwin

:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~:

I face a lot of things. But the hard thing is to know wether I face the truth or not.
To me it is too easy to see an ugly me and not the nice or beautiful things.

Working in this Aca group I have found that things are changing in me, not because I set goals and work for it, it just changes. It is scary and I really donĀ“t know what to think. Tonight I spoked with another group member who said he had thought about dropping out of the group because he felt so uneasy and depressed.

And yes, it is depressing to face a childhood where you were neglected. But thinking about it and daring to acknoledge those feelings is also the first step to healing.

Oh, I am too tired...a day with no hooping!

Now is now and then is then. You are traveling in my territory now, neglect. I am able to look back and see my mother and step-father did the best they were capable of at the time, and I think I've mostly forgiven them. I work at forgiveness of myself these days.

Sometimes all we can do is go with the changes and see where they lead us.....

Change is scary but stagnation in a place that we do not want to be in can be soul-destroying.....

Good for you for facing your particular hurts on a journey to healing and continuing wellness!

It IS scary to change, that feeling of tipping into the unknown. But change is also growth. I'd be far more depressed at the idea of NOT changing than dealing with that unbalanced feeling that comes with new outlooks and approaches.

And the time will come when you can let go of the anger and most likely realize they did the best they could with where they were. As we grow, we change and those around us change. The hope for me is in the next generation. There's no doubt it's made us strong, creative and self reliant! Be well. Hugs.
