Lucy Puppy Dog

We got a puppy yesterday! My husband and I have been talking about getting one from the SPCA for a while and we finally did it. We figured our daughter could use a puppy to grow up with, and our other dog, Roxie, could use a break from all the toddler attention. LOL
My daughter named her Lucy Puppy Dog (which I think will eventually be shortened to just Lucy.) She's a Plott Hound/Pit Bull mix and soooooooo sweet. Aside from the standard preliminary turf disputes, Roxie seems to be a-ok with her.
My blog post yesterday was about how "life happens", and the importance of not giving up when you're thrown a curve ball, good or bad. Let me just tell you that puppyhood can be a BIG curveball. It can be stressful, but also so, so wonderful and fun. Having been through this before, I was very nervous about our schedules and routines being thrown off. But I just decided to incorporate Lucy Puppy Dog rather than let everything get completely out of whack. Roxie and I took our usual morning walk, so that felt good.
Lucy might be just the curveball I needed to get out of my slump. My past few blog posts were kind of downers. I'm okay with that because they were honest and much needed. And I was so glad to read that yesterday's post helped other people. I also think it's time for me to lighten up a little. Maybe Lucy Puppy Dog was just what the doctor ordered.
