Early empty nest

Is it really only Tuesday? My son doesn't come home until Friday. Sigh. Is this what it will feel like when he leaves home for good? My daughter started uni this fall and that nearly killed me. I miss her so much. It's still a dull ache every day. My husband and I work on separate continents and have done for nearly 5 years now. That's not going so well, either.

    I appreciate the support. I'll be fine when my son returns in two days. Sometimes, I'm just sad, which is a part of life.

    Do you have any hobbies you haven't really been able to do while raising your kids? Volunteer activities you didn't have time for? Interests you might like to learn more about? Filling some of your time, especially getting out in public activities, could help. You'll still miss them, of course, but you'll be building your life as they grow theirs.

    I remember how sad and hard it was for me when my daughter started all day kindergarten. I had to keep crying in my room. I understand what wearing your heart out on your sleeve means.. and all those sayings, all we can do is hope we taught them well, and be so very happy they are living life.
