Shin Splint link

Monday, April 09, 2012

I'm putting this in here for my own reference. It explains a few things. Of course I walked today. I had appointments and I was busy and I shopped a little. I have new high impact shoe inserts. They didn't help a whole lot. Some but I need more support, apparently.

From searching I'm finding that I am not the only obese person who gets shin splints just taking a walk. I was on my feet quite a bit today and I am paying for it in spades. I have a very busy day ahead of me tomorrow. Not sure how to deal with this.

I can be frustrating to be in that cycle...we need to lose weight to feel better but arent healthy enough to exercise as we would like. It seems like a cruel circle but little by little we can get there if we dont overdo and put ourselves back in tough straits. Im with ya and sending good best inspiration is the idea that this didnt happen overnight and it wont go away that way either...slow and steady will get us there and at least we are here for each other...right? Keep up the good work and get some supportive shoes...I just did and am so glad. We can do it! emoticon

Sue, hope it gets better soon. It doesn't sound fun.

Thank you for sharing this. . .I hope you'll be ok today and that they won't hurt too much and will be gone very soon. I'm sorry that the shoe supports aren't helping you more.

Very interesting information. I already know I have to be super-attentive to my calves, and had gotten in the habit of doing my own version of toe flexes without even knowing it was an actual stretch to balance all the calf stretching I do.

    Thank you for that.
