Happy hooper (Thanks, Shelli!)

Saturday, April 07, 2012

My hoop progress is painfully slow - maybe because my fitness is so bad, I can´t practise for ery long. But the other day I watched Shelli (Mostmom) video about the "3-weave")
I thought it would be something to try so I finally made the two minihoops I have planned for a while now...

I couldnt figure out how that move was made so I went looking for a tutorial, the "3 weave" told me that I needed "chase weave" as skill, and found a lady from Australia that was soo thorough and slow that I fell asleep twice while watchning (only joking...) but she helped me to understand how it should be done and now I am practising. Not the 3 weave, that is still in the future, but the chase weave only needs a lot of practice to look good now as I know the movement.

I am getting blisters on my thumbs...

I have also experienced that if I don´t waist hoop for one day it seems a lot better after that pause - the most progress I have when I took a pause of one day from hooping. I assume that would not work if I did not precede it with regular practising for 5-10 days.

I need to know more about off-body hooping, seems like a good thing to practice without losing my breath too much!

One of these days I'm going to get a hoop, a real one, not one from Walmart. Then maybe I'll learn what you're talking about!!

Yup, gotta learn that chase weave first. I know the video you're talking about! I still had trouble with it, til a woman in my class showed me. Then, it clicked. Size still matters with the minis too. The smaller the mini, the more challenging it is. Mine range in sizes from 24", 28", and 30", all with small tubing (5/8" polypro, not sure about the smallest). Oh, those are inches--I didn't convert... Anyway, I think hand hooping is a lot of fun and it helps stretch out my shoulders and back when they get stiff from being hunched over a desk.

Love the new hoops! I'm toying with picking up a couple of kids hoops to practice the off body mini hoop moves. So much to learn, so little time. Right now just have to get through this busy weekend! Love your wall and new profile picture. What a cutie! Have a wonderful Easter--best way I know to do that is make it great for someone else.
