    Hi GRAMMABENJI;

    I know how that is sometime I weigh less at night then I did in the morning. I weigh once a week and leave it at that. How my clothes fit tells me more than the scale. Eat healthy, exercise and love life. God bless you always.

    It is very unlikely you'd be gaining a pound of fat every day unless you've been consistently eating to your calorie range PLUS the deficit to lose (500 per pound) PLUS another 3500 calories on top of that.

    It IS possible to see weight go up or down as much as 4-5 pounds in a day from water (or any liquid really). Two 8 ounce glasses of water weigh a pound. It is possible to eat a quantity of food that weighs a pound and see that on the scale. It is possible to gain some muscle and bone density. It is possible to have more moisture on our hair and skin from humidity. Quite a lot of things can cause scale variations.

    As the others have said, though, the scale sounds tremendously unreliable already. If it uses a battery, replacing that is definitely the first thing to try. Also make sure it is on a flat even surface if possible, same place, and you're weighing at the same time and conditions (clothes or not, etc).

    my scale does that as well its frustrating and yes the weight is mostly water weight probably BUT it only take 3500 calories to gain a pound and that sounds like alot but things add up fast...if your not watching...or drinking soda will rack up those calories too

    How old is the scale? Have you checked the battery lately? I had the same thing happen and I put a new battery in and it has been working fine. Never give up. One Day at a Time is all we can do.

    LOL!!! Sounds like the scale I have. I have to step on it two or three times to get at least two alike then I know that must be the right one. I did buy a mechanical scale but the little lines between the number are so hard to see so i keep going back to the old one. Hnag in there maybe one day they will be right on the first try. emoticon
