Body fat, meausurements and a whole lotta motivation! :)

Good Morning Everyone! Sooooo I went to the trainer this morning to get my measurements updated, something I do every 3 months or so. I last went in Dec 28th and am proud to report that since that time I have dropped:

Chest -3 inches (WOAH)
Upper Arms -.5 inch
Waist- .5 inch
Hips- 1.5 inches (YAY)
Thighs- 1 inch
Total inches lost: 6.5 inches

I wish I had lost more (are we ever happy?!!) but I know that I’ve only got another 10-15 lbs left to lose, and I’ve already lost 94 lbs so it’s inevitable that weight loss/inches lost will slow down. My body is adjusted to my active lifestyle and in the big picture that’s actually a good thing! I just need to keep pushing hard, changing up my routine, sticking to clean foods and in time I WILL reach my goal! And then the time will come to set a new goal, one which might not even be related to weight loss. I think we live the best life when we have goals to strive for!

So the trainer also measured my body fat. We measure 3 ways each time. She told me that most trainers would say the calipers are the most accurate way to measure body fat so I am going to go with that. It also happens to be the lowest number for me so of course those only cements it in my mind that calipers are the way to go! LOL.

Calipers- 21.9 % body fat (-2.1% since Dec) In the athlete category, HELLO success! :)

Both other methods I dropped between .5%-1.2% so that’s a change in the right direction, but as I said, I’m going with what the trainer said is most accurate (and is the lowest) ;)
I don’t have an accurate body fat % from when I was 250 lbs because I didn’t want to know at that time, I was too embarrassed. I did have a scale at home that would estimate and I remember seeing 42% body fat at one point but I have no idea how accurate it was. My first measurement from a trainer was in August and with calipers I measured 26.9% so I KNOW that I have dropped 5% in 8 months. I can only imagine how much I have dropped since the beginning, wish I knew for sure.

My goal body fat is 20% but I’ll re-evaluate when I get there. When, not if!

    that the bioelectrical method. it can be like 3-4% off so i've heard. if you're not well hydrated it can say you have more fat than you do because it takes longer for the "current" to pass through and measure your body.

    Congratulations!
    I had my body fat tested earlier this year before I started a boot camp and then after. We used this thing that looked like a game controller, and just squeezed it. I hope it is not accurate. :)
