I finally said NO!

Wednesday, April 04, 2012

So I have a sister who is obsessed with loosing weight. She does everything and anything. She has been successful and she works very hard to keep it up. So you would think she would be the first one to support me when I'm trying to stick to my plan.

Well I go over her house once a week for work related issues, and I stay all day so I have to eat lunch there. I usually don't take lunch with me because she offers to share with me. BUT lately I've told her I'm watching what I eat so that she won't offer me any food. I either take my own snacks or ask her for some fruit or something like that. Well tell me why she always have to say "COme on eat some of this" or "Here just have a little bit of it" and NO it isn't low fat or healthy food. I just don't get how she can be so strict on her diet yet offer me junk when she knows I'm trying too! So after many pleas I would always give in. BUT lately, just like yesterday, I've been able to say NO! After a couple of NOs she finally stops. I know she doesn't mean harm but it's so annoying! I wish she would understand that we all have our own diet plans or ideas so she should respect the fact that I don't want to have a tortilla or eggs with chorizo. lol

But I guess I'll have to keep working on saying NO! Hopefully the more I practice the easier it'll get!

P.S. I lost another pound. I weighed 170 this morning! SOOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY!

    Great job!!!

(As a mother to a large & diverse family i'm learning that one person's healthy is not what another might consider healthy;) And something that someone has in their nutrition plan is not what another can have.

That's great! Good for you! :) Once you start saying no it gets so much easier after a while. I can totally relate to all of this because I have a similar problem with my sister as well. I don't know why they do that! But once I started to say no and didn't give in, she stopped offering the unhealthy stuff.

And congrats on losing another pound!! Keep it up!

good job on holding your ground and on the weight loss!

mom is the saboteur in our family. She's always making desserts. Even when we ask her not to, she'll make cheesecake. DH won't turn it down (and he REALLY needs to). Sometimes I do okay, sometimes not. When I've left the cake or pie she made at her house, she brings it to me! ARRRRRRGH!!!
