Shirataki Noodles! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sh
irataki_noodles

Hungry Girl talks about them quite a bit. She even cooked a dish containing them on Dr. Oz a bit ago. www.drozfans.com/dr-oz-r

Alas, I was out of some of those ingredients, so I winged it. I used a whole can of tuna for a serving, and fat-free yogurt instead of sour cream, and peas instead of broccoli and spinach, because we had those two veggies yesterday. With the tuna it came out to be a considerable amount more calories, but those noodles are quite filling. I am stuffed. Plus of course I ate the whole bag of noodles. It's only 40 calories in the whole thing.

Glad you liked them! I've thought about trying them but am always hesitant to buy something that I'm not sure will go over here. I may have to re-think it! Jeannie

Thanks Sue for sharing this. I keep meaning to try those almost calorie free noodles but haven't yet. Do they have any flavor or texture or are they just bland and tasteless without the sauce, etc.? I also read the daily Hungry Girl e-mails and have one of her small cookbooks but really haven't tried very many of her recipes. I've heard she even does a cooking show from time to time but never know when they are on.

    Have a great day!

    Love,

I bought two of the Hungry Girl cook books on line last year but I can't get a lot of the ingredients she uses here in England so I have to adapt them...some of the things I have to google first as I don't even know what they are...lol... emoticon
