No beef for 5 days now!

Tuesday, April 03, 2012

I'm actually very proud of myself. i have not eaten or bought or worn anything made by a cow since my revelation last week. It's been 5 days so far but I never thought I would be the kind of person that could give this up without a fight. My sweetie is really proud that i'm sticking to my convictions. I went shopping yesterday and didn't buy any beef or products made with beef flavor or sauce. I also bought new running shoes since I haven't in two years and made sure they were not made with any leather. I know its a small step to just cut beef for now but its a start right? I love all animals and hate any type of cruelty, I've been leaning toward not wearing leather for a while but the non eating of the beef is a new change (see previous blog). its actually an easier change to make than I thought it would be. If I can get this down I'll start to work on eating less meat all together but slowly, i know if i just give it all up i'll fail miserably. Is anyone going through a change like this?

Great job on your progress! I think you have the right idea, slow steps in the right direction are better than one huge leap.

I quit eating beef 14 years ago and it was very hard. I had a cow and then we had steak and it just didn't work for me. I have to say that I had high cholesterol when I was very young and have not had a problem since I quit eating beef. Now my digestive system can't handle it at all and it doesn't taste good to me. It was the best thing I ever did for myself. I'm proud of you, I know its not an easy change to make but its really worthwhile. I don't wear leather sneakers anymore either, material ones breath so much better anyway. Good job! Cows are friends not food.
