Who is your celebrity body type?

Saturday, March 31, 2012

I read someone's blog about her celebrity body crushes - the celebrities whose bodies were in the proportions/measurements she plans to achieve.

So I did some research - I always thought Sandra Bullock was a similar build to me, with a smallish bustline, not a lot of waist and a low waist, not super curvy hips. Totally describes my build, a little straight up and down in a curvy kind of way. (As in, NOT Marilyn Monroe.)

Anyway, turns out the woman is 5'7" and 110 lbs. WOW. Super thin! (She doesn't look that thin!)

There is NO way I can ever achieve that. Absolutely no way. I was, at my tallest, 5'6". Latest measurement, I was down to 5'4". (Degenerative disc disease.)

Plus my bone structure will never allow me to be 110 lbs. Even anorexic. I have big bones, broad shoulders, even my ribcage is big. I've had comments from ultrasound techs on the fact that I have big bones.

So - I'm looking for a new celebrity body type. Someone I can look at and think, "Yeah, that's my goal." Someone who has that somewhat athletic, boyish, yet a little curvy body so that I can visually see - not just in my mind, but with my eyes - what my potential is.

Best estimate (according to my research) - Helen Mirren! Now, the woman looks fantastic. But my shape is not at all similar to her shape.

I think I just need to photoshop Sandra Bullock. Make her a size 10 instead of size 4 or whatever. Imagine her about 5'4" and 135-140 lbs. I think that's the best image I can hope for.

I also like her stance on the issue of size: "I'm going to shop, decorate and eat - I intend to get heavier. All clothes these days seem designed for girls like Kate Moss. I am a normal, healthy American woman. I can't get these clothes past mid-thigh." - Sandra Bullock

So - who is your celebrity body type?

Keep in mind that the camera adds at least 10 lbs - though I have photos where I swear the camera added 50 lbs!

Very fun concept: why shouldn't we "photoshop" the celebrity body type? After all, it's almost certainly been photoshopped already: we'd just be putting it back to normal.

And as for me: I'm thinking Meryl Streep is about right -- seem to recall she was wearing size 8 in Devil Wears Prada. All the size 0s out there: Marilyn Monroe was a 16!!

Well if you are looking for a celebrity as a goal it will be hard to find! So many are super thin and underweight. And 5'7" 110 is underweight per BMI. So the media has us totally fooled if we look at Sandra Bullock and say that is normal weight (if she really is 5'7" and 110.
