Resistance Bands Or Not?

Thinking about buying resistance bands tomorrow and trying them. What do you guys think?
I go for my 3 week check up on the 9th, hopefully I will come out of this cam boot and into an ankle brace and will be able to do cardio again.
I have to admit since none of my family can see this, that today I took the boot off and put on an ankle brace and did about 10 minutes of slow intensity cardio anyway. I didn't do any jumping rope or jumping jacks or anything, just low impact. My ankle felt really weak and a little sore afterward. But I don't think I damaged it. Its gonna have to be strengthened again anyway.
I know, I know I'm not suppose to do that, but I did what I felt I needed to at the time. How stubborn am I?

    I love the resistance bands. There are so many ways you can use them for different muscle groups and they are inexpensive and easy to travel with. emoticon

    Definitely get yourself a resistance band or two. I like the 20 min seated resistance band w/out with Coach Nicole. I have printed it in Aug.2008 and have taken it with me every time we go on holidays, it's a perfect ST exercise that can be done in a hotel room or on a emoticon Don't overdo your cardio, let your ankle heal. emoticon

    resistance bands are great. you can do them sitting on a chair if your ankle is giving you trouble. do not over do it. emoticon

    SP have a lot of resistance band and chair exercises. I like my bands. I walked after it warmed up and am swimming now, but they are a handy back up. I got a set of three with handles and a bag.
    There are other exercises on YouTube too.

    When I took the boot off after a broken foot, the ankle was weak. Had to wear an ankle brace for a while.

    Definitely resistance bands - there are several videos on them - in both Sparkpeople and in the YouTube Chair Exercise Channel (click on the team picture on the main team page)
    They are great, easy to use, cheap and very effective for strength training!!

    I wore a cam boot for the better part of a year and a half after my ankle was crushed. I used resistance bands during my rehab. You might check the internet for specific exercises for your particular injury or condition and of course, clear it with your ortho. Best wishes to you for a speedy and full recovery.
