Being Honest With Myself

In 2011 I lost 60 pounds. WooHoo! Since October 2011 I gained back 35 pounds. BooHoo! Anyhow, today I actually recorded my actual current weight in the weight tracker. It was difficult to see the weight change to 35 pounds lost instead of 60 pounds lost... Honesty is the first step right???? Got to face the facts and stop being in denial if I am going to move forward and tackle this again.

Good news is that since Sunday I have actually lost 11 pounds. I'm sure a lot of that was water retention. We just got back from Spring Break in the Wisconsin Dells. Drove two days to get there and two days to get home. At the end of the second day I could feel this swelling and tightness in the bottom of my legs from driving with my feet down under me, increased water and sodium intake, loads of bad eating including some delicious battered deep fried cheese curds. (It was Wisconsin!) Anyhow, I have made a promise to my body to cherish and take care of it. I have also committed to God to get back on the journey and trust Him to give me the strength. Thank You Lord I can't do this on my own...

    Good for you - yes, being honest is the first step to turning things back in the right direction. I lost 100 and then gained back about 35 and it seemed to take forever before I faced the scale and got back to making the healthy choices. And once you re-lose that lost weight (grrrr...), I think that really helps because you don't want to EVER have to do it again.

    You are on the right track, still here and still working. I am in the same boat except I gained back over 50 pounds. Then I found out I am expecting emoticon . I always lost weight when pregnant and have lost 15 pounds so far (not sick, just not hungry and get full with 2 bites).

    Keep at it, keep working! I'll cheer you on from the sidelines!
