Virginia - Part 1

Wednesday, March 28, 2012

So the past few days have been insane for me. I have had tons of errands to run, a friend in the hospital who had to have an emergency C-section (but luckily mom and baby are doing pretty well. Gavin will have to stay in NICU for a couple of weeks but things look really good). As of 10pm Monday night I still wasn't totally done with packing. I managed to finish by midnight, then went to bed. emoticon
Tuesday - This morning I woke up super early emoticon at 7am (this is super early for me, I like sleeping till at least 10a). I decided that since it was going to be a really long day then I needed to get my workout done first thing emoticon. I was done working out by 8am - BONUS!!! It is so nice having it done early. Then came the task of loading my car up for the move. I spent the rest of the morning packing up the car. I swear I need to learn how to weed out things I don't need emoticon. I have like 12 different sets of uniforms (and there is a washer and dryer, so it isn't like I need them to last for the full first 3 weeks, but apparently I can't say NO to some). I have enough work out outfits to last me about 10 days, and again I point to the fact that I can do laundry while there, so why do I feel the need to pack at least 10 pairs of work out pants??? These are questions that baffle me. I try to make my life simple, and I start out with such good intentions, but then once I get started I can't seem to say NO. I start to say, "well I might want that," or "If I don't bring it then when I get there I will want it, so I might as well throw it in!" I have an excuse to bring everything, minus the kitchen sink emoticon
But I am super proud of myself for getting it all done, and getting showered and on the road by 11am emoticon emoticon This is a HUGE accomplishment for me. I am usually just like my mom - LATE!!! But not today! I did stop and have lunch with my parents then was on the road. Drove about 8 hours today emoticon I still have about 4 - 5 hours to go tomorrow, but come tomorrow I should reach my destination by about 2p emoticon HOPEFULLY
Next stop...Big Stone Gap, Virginia!!! emoticon

Way to go on fitting in your workout right at the start! I would be the same way in packing all the uniforms and workout clothes. Ironically, sometimes it is the variety (even if in clothing) that provides motivation to a day that is lacking. Excited for you and your new adventure! Drive safely dear!

I am a "just in case " person too. I just know what I leave home will be just what I need when I get there. Drive safe and keep us posted!!

YAY! When in doubt, pack it. If you don't, you'll want to buy another one.

I understand the need to pack everything, you might need it, want it or something else. I like to much stuff and maybe that is why I gained weight, I like food stuff too. Do drive safe.
