Positive Peer Pressure

Tuesday, March 27, 2012

I had a craving for some icecream last weekend. I looked up nutrition info for Dairy Queens Mini Blizzards and chose cookie dough, 420 calories, for just a 'mini' size. I planned it for my Sunday calories. We took the dogs for a walk at the park that afternoon. On the way home we went to the drive through at Dairy Queen. I ordered my Mini Cookie Dough Blizzard. My sister and brother-in-law ordered Mini Mint Oreo Blizzards, and my niece ordered a Mini Reeses Peanut Butter Cup Blizzard. I was surprised because she always gets a large blizzard. When I asked her why she ordered a mini blizzard she sheepishly replied, "peer pressure." We all got a good laugh out of that. Just goes to show you that you can have a positive influence on those around you when you make better choices.

We all hope great choices are good for us, but influencing your niece to get a smaller blizzard is icing on the cake( without eating the icing nor cake of course.
