The Simple Diet Journal # 14 -- Inspiration is Everywhere!
Tuesday, March 27, 2012
Well, can't help but smile as I report that I'm down another 2 1/2 lbs for a total of 21.1 lbs in 56 days aka 8 weeks! I'm so psyched -- and thankful!
Even before I weighed in, I could tell that changes have been going on. It's so good to be able to appreciate those changes as much as I do the numbers on the scale.
I remember being younger and only focused on the number. Seventeen Magazine used to write out the weights of the models, which made me think that at 5'9" I was supposed to be 115 to 119 lbs. I bought into that for a long time and used to even weigh it -- way too little for a larger boned person like me.
Ah, there are some wonderful advantages to being older with new perspectives. I think the whole fitness/diet industry has changed along the way, too -- and that has begun to add so much helpful and healthier mindsets and approaches.
Anyway -- when I started this blog today I planned on mentioning how inspired I feel -- and the input is coming from literally everywhere! Newspaper articles about sports, phrases that my IPod walking/biking trainers say, different Bible verses, song lyrics on the radio, news stories on NPR, stories friends tell me -- one about a famous Spanish architect -- nature (like the Forsythia that are just so incredibly full and gorgeous this year) and even Christina Aguilera on The Voice :-). It's one of those seasons for just soaking it all in. Learning new things, venturing forward!
I've always liked the concept of parables of life -- how very practical, down-to-earth situations can speak into our lives. And right now I feel like I'm bumping into them everywhere. It's a great moment to be open to change -- to discovery -- to life!
Peace, Health, and Living Fully No Matter What
Christina's Quote: To be a career artist, you have to be up to new challenges.
From my Ipod Trainer: Finish well -- with all the same great intentions you started with!
NPR background song while transitioning from one story to another -- the famous Blue Skies by Irving Berlin and recorded by so many greats like Ella Fitzgerald and so many more. . . even Willie Nelson :-)
