moving on

So, last week. Not my best. Work kicked my booty, I just wasn't able to focus on anything not work, and thus didn't do much else.

So, I'm moving on. I can't change last week. I must focus on the future and try to be positive! Over the weekend I replaced my pedometer! I didn't want to spend a ton, but inexpensive pedometers don't seem to be that available. I saw the one I had, and considering how much it would slip off (until I lost it for good) I didn't want to try that one again. The next option (pricewise) was a cute Reebok model. I friend has one and she seems to like it. The clip seems sturdy. So, I gave it a whirl today! I had no problem with it staying put. I got in 16000 steps between when I left the house and when I got home. I guess I didn't have to worry about underestimating my steps as much as I thought. It doesn't have a ton of bells and whistles, but it does keep track of steps, mileage, approximate calories burned (you enter height/weight and stride), and it has a watch built in. I seem to be terrible about wearing a watch these days (I think because the one I really like needs a new band), so that might be helpful.

Also, I am up to running for half-an-hour in a shot! It's been a while since I have been able to do that. It feels good! Next is getting back up to an hour, AND getting my runs in consistently. Those go hand-in-hand. I really want to be able to complete the ten mile race this fall in 90-100 minutes. I know I can do it, I just have to stay focused.

Finally, the hubs got a call from a place he interviewed at in the beginning of January. He just had a second interview, and is waiting for paperwork to clear for a position to be official. Keeping my fingers crossed it all works out. It would be amazing for us to be back to two full incomes. We can maybe pay off some stuff and actually save some dollars! We'll accept any and all positive thoughts, prayers, crossed fingers, etc. They are doing the background check and reference check and then he should get his offer letter. Trying not to count chickens, but the suspense is rough!

That's all for now. I am pooped from my day. I was running around like a maniac. Hopefully this means a night of sound sleep is ahead of me!! Happy Monday, friends! Here's to a fantastic week!

First, hope all goes well and your DH gets that job... finger and toes crossed!
Good luck with the running plan. I know you can do it. By making this a priority, which you are doing. Keep moving forward. Hope this week goes much better than last one did.
