This weekend

This weekend was my daughter's Christening day. emoticon

As you can imagine, I was quite nervous about it. She's so young and tiny, I was afraid of her being in the church full of people for a whole hour and then at my mum's place for the entire day, I thought she was going to cry all day long. But, it went good, she was relaxed at church, cried only at my mum's, and everything went pretty well.

However...I didn't focus on my goals this weekend.
We had grilled food for lunch. The good thing is that there were 6 kinds of salads so I filled my plate with those first, and took some meat and potatoes. I didn't overeat during lunch, and I ate lots of fresh veggies, so that's great.
And then came the cakes...My favorite ones..I decided to eat only 1 piece for the entire day, but ended up eating 2 pieces of raspberry cake and 1 vanilla cake. So, basically I went way over my kcal limit with the other 2 pieces. Plus, I skipped my walk yesterday. emoticon

Losing 2.9 pounds in Week 1 of the Spring Challenge, I don't want to gain them back this week. What's done is done.. Now, I have to figure out how to burn those extra calories from yesterday and plan some healthy meals. I have only 5 days till the next weigh-in and I better make them count! emoticon

    Just balance out the overage in calories through those five days - add a bit to your daily exercise and reduce your daily intake a little. For example, if you were over 1000 calories, you could eat 100 less each day and burn 100 more and you'd come out even. More importantly, you'd come out even without over-stressing your body or feeling deprived or exhausted.

    WTG - not with the cakes of course but I so can't blame you at all! I think I would exchange all the meat with cakes anytime. Which is what I do a lot of times and the end result is -- well-- visible emoticon
    But the spring is young and you will do just fine the next time temptation hits.

    BTW Babies are great. Who cares if they cry at christenings?

    Congratulations on your daughter's Christening! Don't ever beat yourself if you have a bad day (or two). We celebrated my mother's birthday this weekend by going out to eat and having chocolate cake. Yeah, I know I over ate but not like I used to by stuffing myself silly. And we still have to enjoy life!
