Word's I've never heard...

You are not eating enough in the day! Those are word's I was told yesterday by the trainer. ::HeadSpin:: Uh, you realize you just said that to me right... the girl in front of you that weighs over 200 lbs right?

I went for my weigh in yesterday and we were talking about why my weight is not coming off... other than the fact that I've been sicker since I've started at the gym than I have been in years... First bronchitis, then kidney infection now Upper Respiratory infection I'm FINALLY after 3 weeks getting over. I've still been active with this one but I couldn't go work out because I couldn't breathe that well...but enough to do a little walk here and there or playing with the kids for a min type of thing...

Anyway back to topic, I was asked about my eating habits, 8 glasses or more of water a day, lean meats and fish, lots of veggies and some fruits, and whole grains and good carbs...generally about 1600-1800 calories a day and not going over...however I do at times have a hard time meeting the 1600...some day's I'm stuffed and I'm only at 1100-1300 calories. I got the "mom look" and she then said how OFTEN a day are you eating...every 3-4 hours....NO NO NO you need to eat every 2 hours! You are not eating enough in a day and you are going to start gaining weight because your body thinks its going into starvation...(again your talking to the girl that weighs 205 lbs...starvation? ME? SERIOUSLY???)
Then she asked what kind of work out's I've been doing, to which my answer is really nothing in the last 2 weeks. But before that was cardio 3-4 day's a week x 2 hours a day and strength training 2-3 day's a week depending on how many cardio day's we've had.

So then I get the lecture that I need to do more strength training because muscle equals metabolism. I understand that but I really really love my classes, and it's hard on the boy's when were spending all week at the gym after they're in school all day.

After leaving the gym I went right over to the grocery store and bought a can of protien shake and a blender bottle...I don't know if you've seen them or not. I saw one on the Dr. Oz show a few weeks back and they are so cool. It's a bottle that has a wisk ball in it and mixes everything perfectly. So I'm adding 2 shakes to my day to meet the every 2 hours (I feel like a brand new baby on a feeding schedule lol) and hopefully we'll see some nice changes.

The good news is I'm still loosing some inches and the weight is not going back up with the 2 weeks off but it's frustrating knowing I could be out of the 200's by now...that's my first goal and I'm so close. So I'm adding 2 meal replacement shakes to my diet and I've got this week off so I'll be at the gym this week. Wish me luck!

I am on SP, but I have not had much time to actual search for blogs that could relate to me, other than the ones on my friends list...fulttime student, mom, wife, employee etc...another story...Anyway, a friend of mine on SP shared your blog with me because I am going through exactly the same thing! Well, for one I have been sick a LOT since I started this journey in September. I read an article that said some people are ok working out 6 days a week, others it makes sick...Hmm.. so I am debating that, because I do workout 6 days a week, at least 30 minutes, depending on the severity of the workout. I try to get in the ST as well, but sometimes just don't do it as much as I think I need to, but I had a buttkickin' workout week, and eating week last week... I just KNEW I lost at least a couple pounds... I GAINED 2! Granted I DID more ST, but come on...I know that wasn't all muscle I also have not had time to track my food regularly, I just keep it in my head...and "I" am not eating enough too... I know it sounds insane, but with the harder and longer workouts etc. I should have bumped up the calories a bit, but I didn't, in fact, was so busy probably ate less. I have been sick a lot, and think I need to find a nutritional shake of some kind. I have protein shake mix, I will have to try that out and see if it helps at least. Thanks for the helped me to know I am not alone. I just blogged something similar yesterday..."I am not eating ENOUGH? Who have I become? Funny how I fall on the lower end of eating instead of too much now. Good luck on finding the balance...That is my goal at all times...finding the balance... emoticon emoticon emoticon

Good luck. At least the inches are coming off. I was at a 7 pound gain but I got those off finally. Took me 12 days to do it. Half the time to put them on and the other half to take them off. But we'll do it together.
