Wiping out the past

Saturday, March 24, 2012

Today I went back to Weight Watchers after a few months off. Well actually I think I have been off for a few years. I started (okay again..) back in July 2004 and for a few years worked on hitting that magic number of 50 pounds. I was within a pound of that but in 2008 starting slipping. My life changed a bit when my husband started working a new job and instead of nights now worked days. I didn't have the control I had before when it was just me for 5 nights planning meals just for one. Now there were two of us and my ideas of meals were vastly different from his. This actually was the first time my husband and I ever really got to eat consistently together. I met him when he worked in a restaurant and always worked nights. It was a big change for us and sadly I slipped.

Now for the last 4 years I was going pretty steadily to WW meetings but putting the weight back on....ah like hello? So at the end of December I decided I needed to find something different and tried the Herbalife meal replacement drinks. Well the different was me putting more weight on. I decided I needed to go back to WW and went back today. I actually have the monthly pass and never stopped it. I felt if I did that it would be like I had really given up.

When I weighed in today I was 2 pounds more than when I started 8 years ago and up 11 pounds since December (!!). I knew I needed to start out fresh....to get rid of the past 8 years and start from the beginning. So I had the receptionist change my starting weight in their system. Once home I logged into WW etools and changed it there too. However I took it one step further.... I.....wiped out the weight history. Gone...gone...gone were 8 years of weigh ins (okay I printed it out first emoticon ). The past has been wiped out and I can only look ahead. It actually was a relief to get rid of the past and have the hope of a more successful journey.

Sometimes you just have to push the button and wipe out the past.
