out of the comfort zone

Thursday, March 22, 2012

hello, i was going to write about something motivational, but i digress onto what every in maine is talking about,,,,the weather. it has been unbelievable the past two days, in the eighties... july weather.

i grew up in maine, moved to florida, california, back to florida, where i spent 25 years...i moved back to maine in 2004. my first summer here i was out on a lobster boat for the fourth of july, (evening mind you) i about froze to death, every one else was in shorts and t-shirts, i had on 4 sweatshirts....hahaha

i have adjusted somewhat but i dress for the weather, it's better to be too warm that too cold. it just cracks me up in the spring time when it is in the 50's and people are dressed in shorts. i wear my winter clothes till about june, in florida i didn't get into the pool till july..

i am just so very grateful for the gift of the past two days of hot weather, knowing spring (aka mud season) is here. the pond lost all it's ice, the ducks are back and the birds are singing. the trees and flowers will be blooming soon. i am also grateful that i am able to step out of my comfort zone and write here, it feels so very good and makes me happy.

It's been crazy weather all winter for us in NYC. I keep thinking, what happened to winter? emoticon I don't necessarily miss it, but it's so unusual. Wishing you a beautiful spring! emoticon emoticon emoticon

emoticon I don't do cold well either. I live in Florida for that very reason. Stay warm and find the joy in your day. Keep smiling sunshine.

I love the spring too, but it is still cold here in WA state. What a wonderful present you are having.
