Week 1 Recap of Results

On March 14, I was feeling pretty bummed. The weather was really warm, and here I was- realizing that yet again, I am in a place where I do not want to take off the heavy sweaters and jeans because I am not proud of what lies underneath. I dubbed 3/14 "turnaround time". I have dubbed many other days that same thing, but it will stick one of theses times, right?! emoticon

I began a low carb eating plan, using Atkins as my roadmap to get started. It worked for me several years ago and was a plan I could live with, so I am going to try it again!

Here are my results:

WED: 3/14 starting weight 170.6
Weekly weigh ins-
3/15 167.8 (almost fell over!!)
3/16 166.2
3/17 165.0 (dinner out)
3/18 165.2 (St. Joseph's's table)

3/21 167.4
Total loss for week 1: 3.2 pounds

I walked 3 times this week. Starting the diet was not easy- day 2 was really tough because I felt horrible. My head hurt and I just felt "off" all day. Happily, I woke up on day 3 feeling better. I adjusted my food so I could stick to the plan yet feel OK with it. I made it through a dinner out on Saturday night and stuck to plan, and I passed on all the yummy cookies and baked goods at our church's St. Joseph table. I feel good! I am happy with my progress so far!

I will be tracking and planning more carefully in week 2, hoping for similar results to week 1. I weighed in today at 166.6...feeling great about my motivation and my chances for success!

Some quotes from the journal I carry with me, from last week:
3/14- Today needs to be the mark of my turnaround. Warm wetaher is already here and I can feel the sadness and disappointment and frustration I feel with myself. I really can still change things for this year...but I am running out of "start days".

3/16- My biggest challenge today is to focus. I am feeling great about my progress...but I really need to stay committed to another day.

3/21- Had a great walk with Andrea! I am feeling GOOD!!!
