What a week.

Thursday, March 22, 2012

I love my silly little 2 hour a day lunch lady job. It's perfect for a stay-at-home mom. I put my kids on the bus & I'm usually home (cough) to get them off. I never work evenings, weekends, holidays or snow days. This week has been a little crazy though. Thursday last week, the breakfast lady's father passed away. I was asked to fill in for her Friday, Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday. Not a problem. I work her job, run errands & then do my job. But on Monday evening, the cook's 29 year old daughter-in-law suddenly passed away after having a heart attack. My heart aches for this family. I was asked to fill in as the cook the rest of this week. Due to issues with finding someone to put the little one on the bus for me, I'm only able to do one of the four days. So instead of working 10 hours this week, I'm working 21 plus the 3 hours I work for a doctor. My poor house feels so neglected. I have got to clean the windows today so I can get the screens back in. It's so gorgeous outside & try not to open too many windows yet. I just wanna go back to my stupid little job!!!

I've done very little self care lately. I'm not doing my normal cardio & I haven't done any weight training in 2 weeks. My eating has been fairly decent though. I refuse to eat school breakfast or lunch & usually pack my own. Quinoa & chicken, egg whites & wheat, Greek yogurt & muesli. MmmMmmMmm!! So that's good. I like to make fresh starts on Mondays. I don't even care that it's Thursday - - today: cardio, no coffee, VITAMINS!, thyroid supplements & water, water, water.

The scale gave me a number that made me happy. I'm back to where I was before I got the stomach virus & lost 3 then gained 6.

I need to take a new picture of *the baby*. My little kitty is not so little anymore. While I was on the scale, he came in the room. He's 10.4 pounds and only 7 months old. I wonder at what age kittens stop growing. Maybe he's gonna be a really big boy.

I found a ton of recipes for quinoa on allrecipes.com. I've only made 1 so far & I like it. I am looking forward to next week. We're off for spring break too. I'm sorta looking forward to it BUT my oldest just got his drivers license & I'm sure we're gonna fight because he's not going to wanna sit at home or do housework. I'm not looking forward to this stage of life. He wants his freedom but doesn't seem to understand that he has to EARN that freedom. He doesn't have a car & plans on using ours.... it's going to get interesting.

Sounds like a very busy week! Great job on packing your own food. I still need to buy some Quinoa. I wanna try it. Tomorrow is Friday, so then you'll hopefully be able to get back on your schedule after that. My kids are on spring break next week, so I have a few days off. I'm looking forward to getting some things done around the house. Can't wait to see new pics of the kitty, he does sound like a big boy! Happy Friday : )
