Weights pay off big time

Tuesday, March 20, 2012

Today I worked 5 hours and 10 minutes. The most I have since August 2010. Go me!

Followed by a dose of physical therapy (35 minutes) and the fact I walked 1.8 miles around work, and every where else I had to go today.

My physical therapist says that the reason why the bone growth in the fusion in my lumbar spine was so good when the doctor did the x-rays is due to all the weight bearing exercise!!!!! So, Thank you Mike (my therapist), for "making" me do it. Healing takes time. It is happening, and the fact there is positive good bone growth is well, absolutely positive.

Deborah, that is really good news. Bone and ligaments also Muscles all benefit from Strength training and weight bearing. You did a really great job with your PT and your uncomfortable exercises have really paid off. Well done Deborah. You really did a great job and it is paying off for you in terms of better health. Keep doing what you have been doing for this long and you will be walking more easily in no time. emoticon Job, emoticon Pat in Maine.
