It's killing me !!!

Tuesday, March 20, 2012

Good afternoon everybody.

As many of you know from my post or blogs, I am weighing myself only once a month. I really don't like the ups & downs of day to day, or week to week weights.
I have been eating better for about 6 weeks now and on Spark-people & exercising since March 5th. I feel better and have been getting great workouts in, at least 3 a week and sometimes 5.

I have 11 more days to go until the end of the month and the waiting is killing me !!! I know I will have lost weight and I am proud of myself for all the work I have put in. The scale will not define me. Regardless of what it says, I know that I am getting healthier by the day. My body is feeling better every day and most of all, my mind is doing well. Even without stepping on a scale, everything I have done is already paying off. The way I feel is much more important than what a scale might say but nonetheless, I am counting the days with anticipation.

Every day I make good choices is just going to make that day sweeter !!

Yesterday I put up some "before" pictures on my page so I have them to compare to what I will look like when I get to that final goal weight of 220 Lbs. Every day when I pull up Spark on my computer at the log-in page, I see these great before & after pictures. I promise all of you right here & now, that I will be on that page someday !!! That's one of my newest goals and if I just keep up what I've been doing, I WILL get there !!

I bet you, that those healthy looking " before & after " people had plenty of slips along the way. They just didn't get discouraged and kept going.

I hope you all have a nice day. Stay strong and make good choices. We all slip up sometimes. Just get right back up and keep going, YOU CAN DO IT !!

P.S. Some of these healthy frozen meals I have for lunch are really, really good. Why do they have to put so much dam salt in them ??? 710 mg. / 30% of the daily intake !!!!!
If they could cut that down by 60-70% I could eat them more often. I only eat 1 a week.

There is a spark team called 'Scale Free'. It's not real active team but if there is a new post then the leader will reply.
When you said you do stare at it as you walk by is giving it an awful lot of power over you. Try not to let the number be the be all end all of your lifestyle changing program here on spark.
At least you have all the other feel better's from what you have been doing to help keep you motivated no matter what the scale tells you in a month. I had to stop using the scale too and go by how I feel and how my clothes fit when I take care of myself and stay on plan. The numbers on the scale eventually will show a loss if you have been walking the walk. If you know what I mean.
I am so happy for you that you have kept up and kept motivation going on your journey. Change is good, and healthy. Healthy feels good. Unhealthy feels bad.
Keep positive and keep on doing what you have been doing. Then you will have the joy of success!

Wow, and I thought I had it rough limiting the weigh-ins to once a week! The right way to go for us bigger folks who can fluctuate with water-weight so much from day to day!

I think that it's great you only weigh once a month. I also try to keep the scale in perspective and not let it measure my success. The success is in the long lasting healthy changes we are making in our lives. You are making some great choices for yourself.. Way to go!!! Keep going...

    Thanks for the encouragement!!

You are doing so great! You should be proud of yourself and I am proud of you too! You are very inspirational! It's amazing how much sodium is in stuff. I figured I was going to have soup for lunch cause it's quick and easy but boy even the low sodium soups have lots of sodium. It's amazing what you learn when you read the labels! Keep up the good work!

You're doing great -- with the eating AND with the fitness minutes (500 already this month).

I do agree with you about the sodium in prefab foods . . . they're convenient, they taste good, they're calorie and portion controlled but: most of the time, I eat oatmeal, yogourt, salads, fruit and homemade soups (which means I can control the salt!).

I'm betting your weigh in will be gratifying. But, even if it's not all you might hope: if you're sticking with the program, the scales have NO CHOICE. Those pounds will go!!

You have great will power! I have a hard enough time waiting for a weekly weigh-in, let alone a monthly one! Keep up the great work!

It does help that I don't own a scale but I do have to walk by it twice, every time I go to the gym. I have to avoid it 3-5 times a week. I do stare at it as I walk by but I'm staying strong & not giving in.

Oh Tony, you have so much more patience and willpower than I ever will. I cannot stay away from that scale, LOL. Good for you!!! I hope you share with us what the scale does tell you when you do weigh in :)
