A Mini Minty MoMINT

“Life is not about how fast you run or how high you climb but how well you bounce.” – Vivian Komori

My mom says… never give up on your dreams… AND I LIKE IT!

Life is Minty Fresh!

I AM Serious!

Good morning!

I am still wearing my pedometer and I will not bore you with a step count however, my steps are a low of 4,200 and a high of 11,339 steps. I normally stay in the 5,500 to 6,000 range. Looking at this, I need to step it up! LOL The one thing that I DO, do well when it comes to moving is that I keep putting that pedometer on and I keep working at improving.

I think I get that persistence from my parents who are of tough Minnesota stock. For example, my mom just had a hip replacement in January and she has amazed us all by her perseverance in getting back on her feet. She did everything right with determination and without complaint. She has been walking without a cane for a few weeks. My dad had chest pains on Thursday, his doctor admitted him to the hospital and on Friday AFTER a battery of tests had a stent put in. My mom was at his side the whole time. He was out of the hospital on Saturday, and ALL this is in the midst of getting their house ready to put on the market this week!

On a little side note – when my dad had his first EKG they told him he had the EKG of a 20 year old. After the Nuclear Stress test, they told my dad that he had an EKG of a 30 year old. I told my dad that he better get out of the hospital before he turned 40! BTW, my dad is actually 80 years old! He is a GREAT example of perseverance – he has exercised daily for his life!

I think this video is a GREAT example of perseverance.

AffirMINTion: I persevere.

Make it a GREAT day, IF you choose to.

What are you waiting for?

Life is good! emoticon

It must be the stock of people form the Mid-West :) I am so glad to hear your parents are doing so well and are vibrant and healthy. What a blessing.

I am from Iowa and I would say that I am from good stock as well. My mother just turned 81 years old on Valentine's Day. Nine years ago she had her first stroke and she pulled out of it really well. Two years later she had her second stroke... this one took quite a tole on her. She worked hard and got back to where she was after her first stroke. It took pure determination and courage to make her come back. After months of therapy she went back to work for my sister's beauty shop and six months ago got her special drivers license to drive a Medic-care van. This woman is truly an inspiration.

Sorry, wasn't trying to make this about me. I guess I am trying to say that we can learn from those strong people that continue to set for us great examples about how to face life and be strong. Next time I put on my pedometer and my walking shoes, I will walk proudly. Not only for me, but for our ancestors who paved the pathway for us.

Loved the video... it takes courage to get up and get going again ... did it say she was from the Mid-West (Minnesota?).

You rock! I don't go anywhere without my pedometer either! I figure if I'm going to move, I may as well take credit for it! Stay the course.

Glad your Mom & Dad are doing well despite their challenges! Older age is not for sissies!!

Wow, what great examples your parents are! It is no wonder you keep doing what is best for you (and Minty). The fact that you are putting on your pedometer shows you are perservering. You must have really been active to get that 11,339 step day.
I have not been as faithful lately of putting on my pedometer, because of you I am heading down to the bedroom to put mine on!! Thanks for the reminder that we can't get better if we don't perservere.
I do see that Minty is being as cute as ever, have a GREAT day!

Great blog! You certainly do come from "good stock". Good that you keep wearing your pedometer. Just increase your steps a little every day, and those numbers will go up, up, and away!
