Shamrock 5k run

This morning was Portland, OR 34th annual Shamrock Run! We had 32,000 runners total, and 11,000 of those were in the 5k that I did! WOW!

We started out this morning prepared for snow and rain to make its way, as we were counting down the minutes to the start the rain started to come down and Im just thinkin, Great! Another soggy run like last year, but to our suprise when we crossed over the start line and out came the blue sky! (gotta love unpredictable portland weather lol) It was a great 5k run I did with my friend Melissa! So glad I did it! I had originally signed up for the 15k but wasnt able to train for it, so Im glad I still slapped on my running shoes to knock out the 5k, I always feel like Ive accomplished something when I finish, running is something I truly LOVE. I love to hear nothing but encouragement from other runners, people cheering you by on the sidelines, and the FACT that I made a healthy decision that day! Plus the cool shirts arent to bad either! :)

Heres some pics I got, I didnt bring my phone so I didnt get to many!

This was also Babys first Run! :)
We finished at 31:33!

I am happy you ran the Shamrock! I did it last year but was unable to run this year. Still have knee problems. The last race I was in was the Warrior Dash last year. I did however watch the start of the race on TV. I missed not being there.

How cute are you? Seriously, pretty darned! So glad you had a good time. The weather really did cooperate, which I was grateful for, too. I was one of the course marshalls for the 15K, up on Pill Hill and not everyone appreciated the road being closed LOL Got rained/sleeted on a bit, but it was totally worth it.
Congrats to you and baby on a great time!

Way to go! I can't believe you are running 5k's while pregnant. I'm pregnant and there's no way I could have done one. Great job!

Way to go. When we were in the hospital yesterday at OHSU they were talking about the run and the weather while they were working on my brand new grand daughter.

Thanks! I have ran consistently for about 2 years now, including a half, so maybe thats why? Im actually running a 10 min mile right now, compared to my normal 8:30 mi! Its all about training, youll get there!

Are you kidding me?! You run a 5k faster than I do and you're pregnant? Holy smokes, I better pick it up! But really, congrats, sounds like you had a great day.
