Last week was kind of a big week.

I RAN. 2 miles at a 13.5 min/mile pace. I could have kept going but I was at lunch and had to get back to the office. I used the cardio setting on the treadmill and entered in my age and weight and let the treadmill suggest a heartrate to maintain. After about 5 minutes I realized I could easily run a little faster. I reset the heart rate and ran another 5 minutes and again realized that I had more in me. I reset the heart rate 2 more times. During this session, the treadmill manipulated the incline to keep my heartrate constant. In order to get the distance I wanted the treadmill had me running at "0" incline but I don't care it was running and it was 2 miles baby. . . And I didn't feel completely exhausted. . . and with the incredible weather Chicago is having, I was able to start riding my bike to the train again. . .and we got out and walked the dogs a couple of miles both Friday and Saturday. . . and I jogged in the pool yesterday and I didn't completely hate it. . . and it burned about as many calories as the same amount of time on the treadmill doing intervals. My knees actually don't seem to be bothered but I thought I'd give them a break and run in a pool yesterday.
The only downside is that I gained another 2 pounds over the last month or so. It seems the more I run, the more I want to eat so I definitely have not found my food niche where I can both exercise as hard as I want to and not gain all of my weight back. I'm up 24 pounds from my lowest weight, feeling better at 156 than at 132 but not happy with the muffin top that returned and how tight my clothes are fitting. I never reached my goal weight. I came very close and then I just seemed to lose it and started eating everything in sight. I felt both very tired and very hungry. I'm just going to keep trying to figure out how to keep running.
