5% Spring Challenge

Today is the start of the 5% Spring Challenge and I admit, it's a bit daunting joining a challenge and a community where so many people are already so familiar with. It's hard breaking in as a newbie and figure out what the h*ll I'm doing but so far, my fellow Cats have been amazing and super supportive.
For me, the reason why I joined the 5% challenge is because I've got about 10 lbs to go and these last 10 lbs have proven somewhat stubborn. I'm not discouraged or anything because I have never felt more fit in my entire life. Never in a million years would I have thought that I'd take up running. Never would I have thought that I love the exhilaration that comes with running.
I know a lot of why the last few lbs have been so stubborn is because I've been eating out a lot these past few weeks when I normally don't. A lot of that has to do with the fact that 2 of my friends recently got engaged and we've been celebrating with food and alcohol. But hey, I don't beat myself up over it because I'm having fun. So I'm losing the weight a bit more slowly now but at least I don't ever feel deprived or that I'm missing out on the fun. I think that part is important. To reward yourself a little without completely sabotaging yourself.
The January Jumpstart challenge worked very well for me and I think the 5% spring challenge is just what I need. I tend to be competitive so this a great way to kick my butt into gear and losing hopefully more than my 5% so that I can get down to my goal weight in 8 weeks!
