Welcome Spring-Hoopdance

Friday, March 16, 2012

I'm breaking in spring and my new hoop!
My hoop is homemade using directions you can find online. Just google. I used 2 gaffers, white and green with one green deco. My hoop reaches a touch under my chest although I think it's still a touch bigger than my 42" troo hoop. My first hoop was way past my chest. In this video, I'm actually trying some of the things I'm learning, like one leg hooping.

Feel free to join Hula Hoop AllStars here if you want to know more about this craze! My favorite website for hooping is hooping.org where I submit columns!

You're such an inspiration! Thanks so much for posting this. I just went out to get supplies to make my first hoop -- so can't wait to see how it'll work. Although, I'm levels and levels below where you are -- still at just keeping it moving around my waist.

Love your cute dog and beautiful flowering tree, too! emoticon

FYI, blonde moment, all my hoops are 160 PSI. I like them heavy and I know it. Wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle!

@Snowangle, I don't actually enjoy standard arm weaving. So I actually spend a lot of practices trying to wave my arms in and out. That's about as dancy as I can get. :p That leg out that is new. I'm shocked I was able to do it on this video at all! I have no balance at all and I've had to work on it all month to get this far. I totally recommend HoopsieDaisy's youtube video on one leg working.

@Joy, I LOVE This weather. I just wish I didn't have to sleep through most of it!
Someone said my dog stole the show!

    Thank you everyone.

@Meddy, when he wants someone/dog to play with him, he runs around in circles barking like mad. I imgaine that he's like "Look at me, I'm crazy! Play with me!" We have a neighbor dog and I think he was thinking if he did that enough, the dog would come outside. :p

Sorry, but the dog stole my attention ... that was a very humoristic pet! I especially love when he (she) just run like a maniac in and out of the picture!

...and your hooping is great too! Very inspiring!

WOO-HOOP!! Love it and can you believe this weather? It's like we skipped spring and jumped into summer! I'm working on a hoop for DGD now. DD sent what I think is deco tape, metalic with a glitter effect. A real challenge to work with and won't be doing many more; won't be buying anymore of the tape.
I love when you tell us what's on the hoops and the size. My favorites are 41-42". I just bought a roll of 100 psi for some kids hoops and a couple for me to try for the dance moves. I liked Hip-Mom's when I tried them after the 5K Sat.
Shannon you make it look so easy, I'm hoping the lighter hoop won't beat me up as much when I try shoulder hooping. Still working on getting up the courage to hoop in the yard in front of my neighbors. I'll have more privacy in a few weeks when things green up.
    Thanks for sharing.
I give the video a emoticon emoticon

0:18,:28-:35 DYING of ENVY! You are smooth with alternating your arms making it look like a wave. Oh gosh it's glam! Your knee work ROCKS. I want to do that SO BAD!
That's it. I'm going outside and playin' with my hoop!
Your flowering tree is a gorgeous backdrop.
    Your hair rocks!
I LOVE how your poochie is absolutely UNFAZED by your workout. LOL!
