30 Day Shred : Day 1

So I have the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred DVD for over a year and hadn't even opened it yet.
I felt I needed a change so I figured I would give it a try.
Day 1 completed and it wasn't so bad. I mean, don't get me wrong, it was tough and she kicked my booty, but maybe I am in better shape than i thought? It wasn't until about 9PM when i finally sat down on the couch to veg that I started feeling the muscles in my arms and legs.
I was working out at the mid range and completed the entire 20 minutes with energy to spare. I didn't have any weights so i used 1lb cans of food from my kitchen. That might be why I had a little extra energy.
I will push myself to complete day two at the higher level only if I can manage it with good form.
The only unfortunate thing is that i do live in an old apartment building in NYC so the pounding from my workouts will not be welcomed. During the week it is a non-issue since i am scheduled to workout when my downstairs neighbor is still at work. It is more an issue on the weekends when my neighbor is home, which means that i will respectfully not be doing the shred workout on Saturdays and Sundays. I will just have to do some other form of workout on those days.
My goal is of course to better my health by increasing strength and endurance, but as we all know there is some sort of superficiality to working out. In the end, I would like to lose 5-10 lbs and 1-5 inches at the end of the 30 day shred. So yes, I weighed and measured myself today before the first workout : )
